Feeling super grateful - reflection after the Open Weekend

I am feeling super grateful for closing doors on an early evening this Sunday. I was overwhelmed with all the support from wonderful guests. Many pieces found new homes, many glasses of prosecco were drunk, and pieces of cheesecake were eaten. It is time now to fill my glass and put my feet up.

New start, new collection

We have just moved to a new house not far from our previous place. Our house had to be within walking distance from the sea...that was of my must. Our new home has got a dedicated place for my creating art: a studio.

It is time to create a new collection with a new studio and setting. The new work will combine inspiration from my new and old neighbourhood. The brushmarks will be much looser, I am excited about this collection.

It is all about the colours and texture

Forrest Green Collection - Bespoke Collection for Interior Design Project

This collection was created for one of the Edinburgh-based interior designers. The pieces aimed to be placed in the high end restaurant. The palette included a forest green, a touch of gold and black.

Winter Trip to Highlights

When someone says road trip, I always jump into the car, ensuring my phone is charged, as I take tons of photos.  My husband's friend came from Spain, and we could not take him to the beautiful and surreal Highlands.

Day one of #21daysinmyartworld : FAVOURITE PAINTING

I have chosen 'Berwick Bay' as it is a current favourite painting of mine. I love how the soft sky's loose marks contrast with the beach's sharp, nearly geometric lines. In my upcoming work, I will develop the feeling of bold marks inspired by the dreamy seascape of East Lothian.

I created this painting as a commission. My lovely client sent a beautiful photo of Berwick Bay in situ. I will be opening soon for taking commissions for this year.

OPEN HOME STUDIO

If you fancy a bit of homemade cheesecake, you are stuck for the Xmas presents, pop into my Open Studio Home.

My home studio is scrubbed, the Christmas decorations are on, and the prosecco is in the fridge.

As it is a month to Christmas, I will be selling my hand-painted baubles inspired by the colours of the sea, Parisian blue, soft pink and warm touch of gold.

I have the Xmas cards too. I hand finish with gold leaf liquid pen every single of these cards as well, as everyone deserves special treatment.

There will be a range of paintings available with a huge 30% discount, too. I will be opening my home studio on Saturday and Sunday. Both days are from 11-5 pm.

My address is 19F Millhill, EH21 7RH, Musselburgh.

Sea hugs & Gratitude, Joanna

P.S. I will be closing my online shop on the weekend

I want to thank collectors for the lovely for still following the arts regardless and supporters for likes and well, for support for this last year.

VISIT TO BERWICK-UPON-TWEED

Last Saturday, I went to Berwick-upon-Tweed. This town sits at the most northerly tip of Northumberland, just 3 miles from the Scottish Border. A coastal town with sandy beaches and beautiful riverside walks.

I love this beach so many inspirations….
